The Dinosaur Museum

 Our last morning in Lehi, we went to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point. It was a lot of fun! They had a hands-on room with some fun things to play with.

 The kids had fun making parachutes.

 Then they put them in a wind tunnel that launched them into the air.

 It was pretty cool!

 They played with these magnets things, and Josh made a face.

They built some structures using Keva Planks.

Then we went on to the dinosaur portion of the museum.

We played with this sand and water table and built a pretty cool dam. Plus they had little plastic dinosaurs that I would hide in piles of sand for the kids to dig up.

This shark is massive. Truly. I don't say this about many animals, but I am so glad these guys are extinct. I can't imagine ever even dipping a toe in the ocean with these brutes swimming around.

 We were all appropriately frightened.

 The last room was a giant sandbox. The kids loved it, but the air was full of sand.

If you look at the side of the building directly over the green awning, you can see a sign that says Keeley's Ice Cream. We had to take a picture!

We left about mid-day and drove straight through to Phoenix. We would have stopped over for a night at Grammy Jo's, but they were living it up in Cancun at the time, so we stopped in to drop something off and then went on our way. It was a fun summer trip!

The Sollenberger Classic

The MV Pirates got invited back to the Sollenberger Classic this year, and we had lots of fun visiting them at the Biltmore Hotel and swimming.

I'm glad that I have such good swimmers!

Their slide is lots of fun, and the pool workers are a lot more laid back than at our resident's pool.

Lexi started cheering and yelling "Woo-hoo!" When I came off the slide once, and we started doing it for everyone after that. The person coming down the slide would then make a pose. It was pretty fun.

The first day she said she didn't want to get her hair wet, but she would go the next day. Then the next day, she realized she wasn't going to have time to wash her hair and leave to where the team was going, so she told him she couldn't do it again. He thought dripping water all over her hair would solve the problem--her hair was already wet, so then she could go down. :(

Here is our group ready to cheer on the pirates. My friend Lauralyn was here this year with her husband Kelby. It was so fun to see her! We grew up together, and we were roommates together in college, so it is always fun to catch up.

We had field passes, so we went down and took a picture of the line of scrimmage.

Lexi was totally embarrassed that I made her take this picture, but I thought we needed a picture of us on the field at Cardinal's Stadium. Also, I noticed that we seem to be taking after my kids here--faces pointed the right direction, eyes were looking at the camera screen...

Even though the Pirates lost this year, it was a super fun time! Hope they get to come back again.

Trip to Utah part 6, Temple Square

Right after we left Jake and Lizzie's house we hurried back to Noel and Jewell's house to head up to Temple Square. We had decided to take public transportation the whole way there, and the kids were pretty excited. First we walked to the bus station, and rode the bus to the trax (lightrail) station. The bus was pretty crowded, and we just had to grab whatever seats we could find.

Then we got on the train. We were glad to get seats all together this time!

Above is one side of the train--Jewell, Ian, Tyler, Katlyn, and Sareny. Poor Jewell had to manage her three kids by herself, since Noel had to work, so we tried to help her when we could. The other side of the train--Isaac, Keeley, and Daddy.

Then we got to temple square! The kids minus Keeley and Tyler, who is sometimes camera shy.

We walked right by the family history library to get to our restaurant, and we noticed they had some fun kid friendly things to do. We stopped for a minute to have our picture taken. I wasn't too happy with how it turned out, because he didn't tell us he was taking it. Although really, everybody but me looks pretty good.













Then the kids had lots of fun playing and exploring all the fun things there.

Then we walked in to the tabernacle and watched some sister missionaries do part of the tour, like crumpling up a piece of paper.

We went to the visitor's center and walked around there quite a bit. We enjoyed all of the fun exhibits. The kids lined up for a picture in front of the Christus; this time we were missing Ian. Maybe he was napping in the stroller?

After that, we walked over to the new conference center for a tour. There was a little stream outside of it.

Our tour was quite extensive, and ended on the roof. Here are the kids with the tabernacle in the background.

Right as I took the picture, Tyler walked over to be in the picture too. This doesn't happen often that he will voluntarily be in a picture, so I had to take another one with both of them.

Then we got on the very crowded train to head back to Lehi. This time the train was full of commuters, and when we finally got a seat, this is what two worn out little girls did. Cute!

We headed back to Phoenix the following day, after a visit with Sherwin and Laurie Harris (Keith's old roommate), and a brief stop in Scipio. We also stopped in Fillmore to visit with grandma Keel and Frank, but somehow I forgot to take pictures there! Sad. Possibly it was because Keeley was being pretty fussy. I guess another trip is in order so we can get the kids with their other grandparents. The only photo I took on the way home is the kids on the Q's rock.
