There is just something special about a tiny baby's smile. It starts in their eyes, and then slowly, their mouth decides it wants to smile at you too. It has got to be the most precious thing in the whole world.
As a new mom, (for the third time) I need those smiles. I crave them. For the first six weeks of my baby's life, I watch for them, hope for them, search for even the tiniest hint of them. And then, finally, she smiles at me. Her smiles validate my entire existence.

Yeah, good job Finley! That is a really cute smile.
What a sweetie! I can't wait to see her smile at her Grammy Jo, cause you're right, nothing is better than a tiny baby's smile!
Wow Hillari, she looks so much like your other kids! And I bet Sareny is the perfect little helper. So cute!
finley is just so cute. and i want to see her. and hold her. she will be a teen mod like sareny.
I certainly miss that age. She is so precious :)
Seriously...all of your kids looked identical at this age. In my opinion, at least. She is super cute though! And I hear your baby is beautiful...but I guess we shouldn't be surprised. All of yours were.
I love this stage too, so fun!
cutteee...
and i shoudl have that book for you tomorrow :]
Hillari -- you are a GREAT mom!! Face painting, silly string, sugar cookies -- with a newborn!! I admire you! I can totally identify with what you said about searching for that first smile those first 6 weeks! It makes all the difference! I have to say, the stories you posted under "funny kids" made me LOL today -- I needed that! Miss you!
Love her smile. Love your words.
