Swimming Fun

The same day as the marker incident, as I mentioned before, we went swimming at Starpoint. Lexi and Scott came along, and we had tons of fun. It is always a lot more fun when you have other adults to talk to and help out with the kids. Keeley discovered the slides, and it was all over from there.
She wanted to go down the slides all day long! And you can see from her face below that the permanent marker was totally gone! That sunscreen worked like a charm.
Someone has to be at the top of the slide to help her go down, and then an adult has to be at the bottom to catch her. This is what she looks like at the bottom!
But as soon as she is out, she takes off to go again.
Here is Lexi going down the slide.
 And IJ going down.
 And climbing out.
And here he probably got in trouble by the lifeguard for not climbing out quickly enough...
Sareny is a nice sister and will help Keeley  go up the rope and down the slide.
Cute little Finney Lynn.
I think  you can tell that we spent a quite a while helping KeeKee's go down the slide.
 Sareny and Scott.
 Cute Isaac.
 Sareny went down the slide.
It was a fun day. Eventually we had to drag Keeley away from the slides. :) When I go to the pool, I prefer be in water deep enough to hide by body, so standing at the bottom of the slide to catch Keeley for all the world to see is not my favorite. But that girl is, so stand there I did.

Fun with Friends

We had the Jankowski kids over one day, and the kids had fun playing and running around together. They got a little crazy outside with the squirt guns and hose and they ended up pretty soaking wet. When it was time to come in, I had them sit on towels to dry off for a bit and when lunch was served, it turned into a picnic. Now that I am seeing these pictures, it all makes sense why we found some dried up macaroni and cheese shells on one of our beach towels when we went swimming recently...especially since we hang beach towels up to dry several times and reuse them before they go in the laundry.
Isaac and Ty love to make interesting poses, and Sydney and Finley sure are cute!

Feed the birds

A couple of times, before we take Isaac to school, we have headed over to south lake to feed the ducks and coot birds. It is always so much fun! Finley gets a little bit scared, so she likes to climb on the table to get away from them. Although last time we went, a ranger asked us to move away from the table area when feeding them so they didn't associate the tables with food...makes sense.
Keeley was a happy smiley girl.
I loved all of her little smiles!
 Such a sweetie.
It's fun having Lexi around to do stuff like this with.
Isaac prepared a feast for the birds--look at his hands! He was just about to toss all the bread up into the air.
Finley finally got brave and came down off the table.
 Such a pretty girl!
We also had Sydney with us, since I was taking the girls to preschool on my way to taking Isaac to school.
It was such a mild day for early December. The weather was perfect, no jackets required.
We've heard the hoa might be getting rid of the coot birds because they are a "nuisance." We will certainly miss them, if they do. And by getting rid of, I mean do them in.
I love being able to do fun things like this in the morning before taking Isaac to school!
Keeley wanted to try the bread as well. And since we weren't even using stale bread, that was okay.
I showed Keeley how it is done.
Anyway, it was a fun morning outing.

Tempe Town Lakes

Sareny's last day of kindergarten was a half day, so we headed out to Tempe Town Lakes splash park immediately afterwards for some summer fun.
I think the best thing about this splash park is the slide.

This was Finley's second time at a splash park, and she really got into it this time. (The first time she sat on my lap and refused to get wet.)
I spent most of my time there trying to keep up with her!
I walked up and saw Isaac pulling his shorts out so the water could go in. It was kind of funny, but I told him to stop.
Cute friends.
This splashpark has little rivers, which is great fun for the little ones.
We met our friends the Avila's there, and had a lot of fun with them.
What a surprise--Isaac liked the "shooter guns."
All in all, it was a very fun day. I was a little surprised when a news crew from NBC started setting up, and I asked them what they were filming about. Apparently it was the first day Phoenix got over 100 degrees this year, and they were doing a story on how people stay cool here. I called the kids over and she filmed them having fun in the water. Then she asked if she could interview me, which I didn't really think sounded so cool, but I agreed. Fortunately, Krystal was on hand to take some pictures!
Finley realized someone was talking to her mommy. How dare they??
I did the last part of the interview holding her.
So we made it onto the evening news, even if it was only a 5 second blurb. Pretty cool, nonetheless.

Fun at a splash park

One day last week after swimming lessons, Alayna and I loaded the kids up and headed over to Tempe Town Lakes splash park. It was extremely crowded, but still a lot of fun.
This park has a couple of little waterfalls and slides.
Sareny and Isaac had fun playing with Zander and Ady.
Finley enjoyed playing around in the water too.

Every time I see this picture, I can't help thinking of the words, "And I do my little turn on the catwalk, yeah on the catwalk."

Seriously, doesn't it just look like she's strutting her stuff?

After a couple of hours, Isaac was done and a little cold, so we headed home. My van had the outside temperature at only 113 degrees, so it's understandable that he felt a little chilly.
