Pretty in Pink

 

We found out that June 23rd was National Pink Day, and we decided a celebration was in order. We have such a plethora of pink lovers in our house, it turned into a major party. Pretty much the party of the year. Pre-party planning included dieing plain white shirts pink for Keith, Isaac, and Scott. One of the up front requirements of the pink party was that all guests must wear pink attire, so I figured those three might need some help. We decided to invite the whole Knight family over for the party.

We hung up streamers in two shades of pink in the doorway. Scott held the baby girl while we finished our preparations. (As certain friends of his would say, "Show her your fatherly side, Scott!" haha.) Lexi painted Sareny, Elise, and her own fingernails pink. Somehow between cooking, cleaning, decorating, getting everyone in their pink finery and so forth, I never end up with time for things like getting my nails painted.

We dined on a selection of pink (and some red) food. We had pasta with pink sauce, pink breadsticks, pink fruit with pink dip, and pink veggies with pink ranch dip. We also ended with some scrumptious pink cupcakes made by Lexi, but we don't have any pics of those. But they were pretty fabulous.

It is clear that whoever took this picture (cough, Lexi, cough) did not even glance at the screen after snapping, because there is very little about this picture that is acceptable. It is almost comical how terrible it looks. But alas, it is the only family photo we got of the event.

After dinner, we went outside for a pink pinata, which was filled with only pink (okay, some red may have been tossed in there as well) candy.

And then the kids watched a show while Keith and I schooled everyone in Compatibility. We're still looking for a challenger who can best us. Some people may have been questioning what they were doing together after realizing just how incompatible they are. Not really, but we had to tease them. ;)

A bit of random cuteness

I love how much these kids love their new baby sister. They have been so cute with her, always wanting to hold her, give her kisses, and play with her.

Isaac is such a great big brother! He loves babies so much.

I love how  babies are just so clueless at this age. They just kind of stare at you.

Sareny was a big help with the new baby.

Sometimes when the adults needed a break from holding a fussy baby, Sareny would volunteer to take a turn.

A trip to Grammy Jo's part 5

One day, we pulled out the slip n slide and had some fun in the water.

Sareny tried it out.

Isaac gave it a go.

 

Finley gave it a whirl.

Lexi found out it's not so great to be the best at slip n slide. She was so good, she went straight off the end and her legs got scratched to pieces by the grass. Ow!

Lexi and Sareny tried going at the same time. It didn't actually work out so well, and they had to try and scootch themselves down. Bampa said they looked like a couple of walrus's.

Truth be told, I had a go on the slip n slide as well, but there will be no pictographic evidence of such forthcoming...

Bampa was the hose sprayer, and Grammy Jo was the baby holder.

We set up this little pool right next to the slip n slide for the kids to splash around in.

  

I love this little snuggle bug! And since Keeley is six months old now as I am typing this, I am totally missing when she would just lounge on you and hold your arm. Lately she has been squirming and worming and arching around; she practically leaps right out of your arms. Don't let this decieve you into thinking that she wants to get down on the floor and play, because she doesn't. She just wants you to develop some really strong arm muscles while she maneuvers her body every which way. But back to this post, when she was still so tiny and less than two months old...

So sweet! This is one of my favorite little dresses she had in the 0-3 month size.

On our last morning, we went down to the high school to say bye to Grammy at work. They redid the gym and office somewhat recently, and I can't believe how amazing they look! Who would guess this is the lobby to the gym??

Seriously, how cool does this gym look? When I went here, it was very plain and utilitarian.
