Ta-dah!!

This evening Finley was clambering around and fell on her head. I was a little afraid she had gotten hurt but instead, she stood up, threw her arms in the air and said, "daaahhhh!"
It was the cutest and funniest thing I've seen in quite a while!

What a silly girl!

Cloudy, with a chance of meatballs...

For family home evening last week we decided to do a themed dinner and watch Cloudy, With a Chance of Meatballs. I kind of stole this idea from my awesome and creative friend Debra G, and we had a lot of fun with it!

We of course dined on meatballs.
Then we decided to make donuts.
I was not in love with this recipe, but Sareny declared them, "Better than QT's!" It was a lot of fun to make our own donuts, and the kids got really excited when they spotted donuts in the movie!
The finished product.
We had a really fun family time!

Made by me

I have really enjoyed sewing lately. I sometimes think back on that sewing class I took on a whim in college and am sew glad I did! Okay, that was a nerdy pun, but I couldn't resist. Anyway, it is strangely fulfilling to take a yard or two of fabric and create something new and totally unique out of it. A couple of months ago I made this:
And in case you weren't sure, I was talking about the skirt. I made the girl a few years ago. I'm crafty like that.
I'm not as fun to sew for, but I made this skirt for myself out of some cool fabric.
I absolutely love this skirt I made for Sareny a week ago. I think it turned out darling, especially with the matching headband.
These are Sareny's snow boots that her grandma got her for our December visit to Washington. She wears them every single day here in Phoenix...come sun, or more sun.

I love this picture.

Fun Times

Isaac and Finley were playing really cute together the other day. I heard Isaac tell Fin, "I'll be the Daddy and you be the Mommy." I went to see what they were doing, and they were using our jogging stroller as the family car, and Isaac was holding their little baby. It was really adorable.
Finney noticed Isaac holding the baby and was quick to snatch it out of his hands.

I think every kid tries standing on their daddy's hands. Sareny and Isaac thought it was awesome.

Isaac was so cute, and throws his hands up in the air like a gymnast.
I tried being the lifter, and it is not easy!

New Year's in Overton

We spent New Year's in Nevada, where all my siblings had gathered except for Cassidy and James. We had a pretty low-key New Year's Eve, just hanging out and playing games. Later when I went to check on the kids, this is what I found.

I just thought it was very precious and had to grab my camera. Then I moved Sareny off of Isaac a little bit. But here is some proof that she loves her little brother!
Since Rhys had never been to feed the fish, we went back to Lake Mead for another go.
Isaac actually leaned over and touched a fish!

John, Holli, and Lexi had fun tossing the bread up trying to get the birds to catch it in the air.

None of us are quite sure how Holli and John manage to keep up with this little boy--he has got some energy!!

Finney gives the best kisses ever.

And she is a little snuggle-bug too. She squeezes you pretty tight.

All the kids love their tia Lexi!

We had a fun time visiting with family and friends before heading back to Phoenix to face the real world. After a lovely 2 week vacation, that was a bit of a letdown!
