Have I mentioned poop lately?

I've mentioned before how a mother's life revolves around poop--here's some further evidence. (If reading about poop isn't high on your priority list right now, you may just want to skip this post!)

Early Sunday evening, I was feeding Finley when I noticed the other two kids were playing upstairs and had closed the door. I assumed they were in their room, but asked Keith if he would go check on them. He seemed not to hear me, and I didn't want to nag, so I dropped it. Wrong decision.
After a while, Sareny came down and told me that she had gone poop. Sniffing the air, I asked her if she had forgotten to wipe, and she said "Well, Isaac was booming it." This got Keith's attention rather quickly and he ran up the stairs where he made a rather gruesome discovery. Apparently, my children thought it would be enjoyable to play with poop. We found it smeared over every possible bathroom surface, including mirror, counter, toilet, tub, floor, walls, and door. I spent a good 45 minutes disinfecting and scrubbing. I decided this needed to be recorded here for posterity. Years from now, when Sareny can't believe she actually did this, here will be the evidence. Let the record show that she is nearly 5.

On another potty note, Isaac is now in underpants. Don't mistake this to mean that he is potty trained, but we are making progress in that direction. Because of his numerous accidents, we are rather limited on our outings, but I decided to take the kids to the park today anyway.
While there, he said he needed to potty, so I just removed his pants and took him in the bushes. He tried for a second with no luck, then turned around. Realizing what he was about to do, I quickly said, "No, Isaac, if you need to go poo-poo we'll have to..." But by the time I had gotten that much out, he had already pooped. Right there. On the ground. In the park. I told him to wait there while I got the wipey's out of the van. I heard him yell to Sareny and two other kids who were there with us, "Guys! Come see what I do!" The kids ran over to see. So much for discreetness.
Hope this post didn't gross you out too bad. And yes, I did pick up his poop and throw it in the garbage.

That is so hilarious about them playing in her poop. Even though it's completely disgusting it's so funny. Luckily I only caught one of my boys doing that once when they were just babies and the one was playing in it while the other one was sleeping. It was gross. I'm glad you got it all cleaned up. Sounds like it was pretty bad.

Oh my gosh!!! That is soooo gross!! Carson was a poop picker... he would poop during naptime and then pick it out of his diaper and then touch everything in the room. Lovely. That is hilarious about Isaac! :)

Oh and about my lack of blogging. I have been super busy, but it's no excuse... I have just not been in the blogging mood. But I am so behind that I am going to try and post once a day. We'll see...

What a funny story! I can totally relate! My two oldest each had a poop fingerpainting incident. I thought we had escaped a major poop incident with Jonathon, who is now 7. I thought wrong! On Sunday, we smelled poop as we were heading out the door to our parenting class. We asked Makenna to change Kevin's diaper while we were gone. But we later learned that the odor was not from Kevin. Jonathon had an accident on the way to the bathroom. There was poop everywhere! I don't know how he managed to make such a mess with it. Oh well! Three kids down! I'm cautiously optismistic that we will avoid a poop incident with number 4.

Poop in the park. There's nothing better than that is there? ;)

At least I haven't experienced the Poop Painting. You're definitely one up on me there.

once julian was 2 and he pooped in the tub... i handed him a plastic bag and made HIM fish it out and put it in the toilet. no more poop incidences since :D best of luck to you in training your son. Id rather go through labor and delivery than potty train!

Well, as we have previously discussed, I will require further disinfecting of said bathroom before our next visit! Hehehe! That is just so gross! And since Sare IS 4, (really closer to 5)why in the world would she even want to touch it! One would think she would be old enough to think it is gross and disgusting! Poor Hill!

glad to hear they kept the poop in the bathroom, it's much worse smeared on carpet and walls or bedspreads.

I can't believe that first story! Why would either of them want to play in the gross smelly poo??? Especially since it wasn't even Isaac's...

The park story is pretty funny, though. I'm sorry you have been dealing with so much poop lately!
