The next day

The day after Keeley's birthday, she wore one of her new outfits from grandma Nancy. She looked so adorable in it!
Seeing her little smiles just makes me smile too.
I think she likes having her picture taken.
She also likes sticking her tongue out.

Then she did this little lip vibrating/raspberry type thing she likes to do.
We love our cute little girl!

Vampires, Witches, and Zombies, oh my!

Yeah, Halloween was so last month and a half, but here we are as monsters anyway.
Finley didn't like the green skinned, scary witch I made of her, so here she is as a cute witch.
As soon as I saw this program, I knew IJ needed to be a zombie!
Move over Bella and Edward, these guys are some hottie super bomb vampires.
Anyway, a fun program to Halloween-ify your family!

We dressed like cows

Chick fil-a has cow appreciation day every year at the beginning of July, wherein if you dress like a cow, you get free food. Last year, cow appreciation day was on July 9th, the day we got the keys to our house. This year it was July 8th, which meant Keith got to enjoy his birthday dinner dressed as a cow. I'm glad he's such a good sport. It was nice to have the shirts already made from last year. Next year I'm gong to have to make at least one new one, since Sareny complained about hers being too tight. But overall, it was a fun evening, and really, you can't beat free!

In which our friends came to visit

Back in June sometime, our friends the Chilton's visited us from the East side of town. We had a great time--we went swimming at Starpointe, then came back to our house for dinner. The kids watched a movie, while we played a game. We all forgot to take any pictures until the evening was nearly over, but I snapped a few of the kids watching a movie. I thought it was cute how Isaac was all buddied up to Claire.
Then a couple of days later, I just thought the girls looked cute and they were wearing their new hairbows that I had made them.

Celebrating Dr. Seuss

On March 2, Sareny's teacher had the kids dress in all black. Then while at school, they all got dressed like the cat in the hat! It was adorable.
Here is Sareny hard at work at her desk.
She is like 3 rows back all the way to the right.
When I was verifying Dr. Seuss's birthday for this post, I came across an interesting tidbit of information that someone put into a poem about him:

You’re wrong as the deuce
And you shouldn’t rejoice
If you’re calling him Seuss.
He pronounces it Soice.

Apparently, he later changed his mind and went with the Americanized pronounciation of his name, which is German, because it "evoked a figure advantageous for an author of children’s books to be associated with—Mother Goose" and because most people used this pronunciation. I was also interested to note that he went by Theo LeSieg when he had written the book, but someone else illustrated it. I always wondered why some of his books had a pen name. LeSieg was his last name, Geisel, spelled backwards, and Seuss was his middle name, and also his mother's maiden name. So there is some interesting, though totally useless, trivia for you.

why?

I know the question on everyone's mind is, Why haven't I blogged lately? I don't know. Probably because the next post I need to do is an Easter post, and that is so last month, who wants to even read a post about it, let alone spend an enormous amount of time uploading pictures and writing about it? I'll do it, eventually, but I'm obviously not looking forward to it.
I am looking forward to sharing these adorable pictures of my little Finney-girl, who is a stinker, but let's face it, darn cute.

And now for the grand finale...

Couldn't you just eat her up? These pictures were taken the week after Easter Sunday, because in a complete reversal from the rest of Christianity, Mormons didn't go to church on Easter Sunday this year. At least, we didn't. No sense getting all dressed up and fighting three little children for several hours in a church building when you can stay home and watch conference on your very own computer screen. Such luxury.
