A. Yes, it is. I'm still here, and have had many blog-worthy things happening in my life. So why no posts? I'm afraid to admit the thing I never thought possible has happened--I have been sucked into the facebook world, particularly the farmtown function, causing me to neglect family, home, and blog. So here is a belated recap of our Memorial Day.
Thanks to the Culture Passes at the library, which allow you to visit a museum for free, we spent Memorial Day at the Phoenix Children's Museum. Mind you, these culture passes are not easily obtained, requiring you to be waiting patiently at the library door before they actually open, ready for the moment when the doors rush open and the crowd surges forward. Through careful pushing and shoving and shouts to your children to keep up or fend for themselves, you reach the Culture Pass display and (this is crucial) quickly scan the passes for the one you want and snatch it up as fast as possible. I have mastered these steps and obtained the much- coveted Holy Grail of Culture Passes, the Children's Museum Pass.
Our first stop was the "take it apart" room, where guests take apart small appliances. Isaac and I went to work on a cordless phone, but I was a little confused to note that there were no hammers supplied...were we expected to bring our own? But no, we actually had to use screwdrivers. Sareny and Isaac (and I'll admit, me too) enjoyed seeing what the inside of a telephone looked like. Fortunately, putting the appliances back together was not part of the experience.
Next we hit the "baby room," as Sareny calls it. It is designed for children under age three, but well-supervised older children are allowed to play there also. We met up with some friends and Sareny and Ema had fun playing with the baby dolls.
There was a fan built into the floor that blew air up if you stepped on it, and Finley backed herself into this corner as far from the fan as possible. I thought it was pretty funny.
She also enjoyed playing with her daddy.
The next room down has a grocery store.
The kids loved taking turns shopping and checking people out.
They were great little shoppers.
And what would a trip to the Children't Museum be without painting the house?
My favorite comment of the day was when Sareny asked me in all seriousness, "How come it's so pretty?"

cutest kiddos ever. i cannot wait to see them the end of this month.
Cute pictures. I went to the library the other day and the lines have gotten much worse for the passes. I didn't even try there were so many people. School MUST be out!
yay you posted. i am glad you were able to push and shove to get that pass. looks like lots of fun. sareny is funny..
Well at least you were able to tear yourself away from Facebook long enough to take the kids on a fun outing. Hopefully you aren't neglecting home and hearth too much! There are WAY more important things in life (like, almost everything). The pictures are really cute. I especially liked the one of Finley backed into the corner! Can't wait to see you all!
That looks like so much fun! I really need to try to get some of those passes so we can go. I bet they are especially difficult to get now that school is out...
I love the picture of Finney trying to get away from the fan! And I think that grocery store food is awesome! I would have loved it as a kid. It looks so real. Sounds like you had lots of fun.
Well you must be getting shredded, since you pushed and shoved fast enough to get the coveted passes! I love all the pictures. The museum sounds really cool - especially the take apart room and the grocery store. What a fun day.
What the heck? Is Finley already walking? I don't remember you doing a post about that!
GAH! I can't believe Finner is already walking!! Do you have any idea what kind of nachtmares we're going to have when Rhys starts walking??
