First Hairstu

Keeley's hair is growing in really strangely, in part because of her doc band. The places where the helmet was holding her head in to prevent growth had the unfortunate side effect of preventing hair growth. Plus, her hair really only wants to grow in the back anyway. She basically has side mullets in the back--the middle back where the helmet held is pretty bald and the side back hair is growing in nice and lush. Lexi had the idea of putting in some little piggies. And I do mean little piggies.
These may be the silliest pig tails I've ever seen!
It was hard to get a good picture, because Keeley wanted to look at the camera, so Lexi tried to distract her.
This one shows the back pretty good.
You can see how most of her head is bald and there is just enough for some sparse little piggies on the sides.
 KeeKee and the hairstu-er.
I will be the first to admit that Lexi is better than me at hair--I'm not even sure I could have gotten those little hair ties to stay in place. I think everyone's hair is going to suffer around here when she moves out next month!

Finley's First Haircut

Back in January, I took Finley to get her first haircut of her life. Previously, I had trimmed a little bit from the sides when they would get too long, but that was it.
I wanted them to shorten it into a cute little cut, mostly because she continuously pulls hair things out of her hair and rips what little hair she has out with it.
She liked getting her hair cut and did a good job of holding still. (She likes posing even better!)
A different day, I tried teasing it up a little bit, and I thought it looked cute.
But really, if you're just so cute to begin with, any hairdo would look cute on you, right??

Yes, she even rocks the always stylish "bedhead" look.

A haircut for my boy

My boy had very long hair. And I was getting very tired of trying (and failing, I might add) to style it attractively.

Today was just the last straw.

This was Isaac at the zoo today, and I just couldn't believe how much I disliked his hairstyle, which I admittedly styled myself. It's like he is just so cute, but the hair is ruining it. So I actually took out my clippers and buzzed his hair right off.

Yes, he was so thrilled to get his hair cut.

Doesn't my boy look handsome??

Speaking of things that have disapeared...

What ever happened to my baby girl's hair? I mean, she never had an over-abundance of hair to begin with, but she certainly had some. (see pictorial evidence below.)

And here she is now...

Although it started out dark brown, her hair is obviously growing in blond. Hopefully not too long from now she will have a full, lush head of hair. Until then, she makes a pretty cute baldy.

So this has nothing to do with Finley's hair or lack thereof, but on Thanksgiving, we asked Sareny what she was thankful for. She thought about if for a second and then answered sweetly, "My head." We all tried not to smile as we agreed that our heads were pretty important things to have, and we were thankful for them too.

New Haircut

Sareny and I went on Saturday to get our hair cut together. This was only the third time she's had her hair cut, and she did really good. She liked when they shampooed her hair and sat very still on the chair while the lady cut it. We had a fun little girls' outing! :)
It took a bit to convince Sareny that it was okay to get her hair cut because pretty much since she was born she has been trying to grow her hair "long to her bum." The problem is that her hair grows really nicely in the back and really slowly on the sides and top, so she ends up with a tail in the back that doesn't look so great. Kind of like a really long mullet. They took off 3 or 4 inches in the back and basically nothing from the sides.

Her new haircut looks really cute though, and she loves it. Maybe in a few years her hair will be long to her bum like she dreams...

My boy is 2 today!

Exactly two years ago today, my little Isaac Jeffrey made his appearance into the world. He was the cutest little boy I ever saw. I expected him to be bald like his sister was, but I was pleasantly surprised by his beautiful light brown hair. The nurses all oohed and aahed over it and said it looked like it had been bleached by the sun. It was a sad day when it all fell out and he was bald.
He has grown into such a sweet little boy. He loves to snuggle and give kisses, and he loves his big sister "Hey-nee," as he calls her. He also likes cars, trains, and hitting people. (We're working on that last one.) He always makes the cutest and silliest expressions and is so much fun. I don't know what I would do without my boy--I can hardly remember life without him.
Here is my boy on his blessing day wearing a cute little sailor suit in honor of his great grandpa Keel who was in the Navy.

And here is my boy now, with the prettiest blue eyes, dimples, and curly blond hair.
