Easter Egg Hunt

I enjoy having things to look forward to--it helps me get through my days and weeks. I think sometimes I am looking forward to things even more than the kids, even if it is just a community Easter egg hunt. Imagine my disapointment when I came home from Dream Dinners the Saturday before Easter to find both older children in the corner and grounded from said Easter egg hunt, which we were supposed to attend that afternoon. I really was disappointed. I enjoy doing fun things with my family, and was unhappy that their behavior made this fun outing impossible. Fortunately, I realized that Finley was able to attend, so I took her to the Easter egg hunt while Keith stayed home with the other kids. The two of us had a great time, and I think she enjoyed some special mommy time, and hopefully the other kids learned a valuable lesson too.

Can you spot her little blond head? She was the littlest one there.
The parents were not allowed to help their children, so I was really glad a worker helped Finley. She didn't really get what she was supposed to do.
The eggs were all buried down in the hay and the kids had to dig to find them.

Finley ended up with 6 eggs, but we gave one to a little boy who didn't find any eggs. We had a fun time, and are already looking forward to next year when the other kids will be able to join us!

That's awesome that you took her anyway! I'm sure the other kids will be good next time:). I'm totally the same way. I look forward to fun things sooo much. Even just taking them to the Children's Museum. That is the funniest...finding Finlay is not hard. She's the only blond one!! haha. Ohhh Tolleson:)

What a good mom for sticking with consequences. What a fun time for you and Finley though. I am glad she found some eggs. It looked like fun!

Sounds like a fun mommy-daughter day! Cute little Fin. Good thing a worker helped her out. But I'm sad for the boy who didn't find any eggs. That was nice of you to share.

Finley is so adorable, Hil.

I didn't get to take Robyn to a movie tonight that we've both been wanting to see because she didn't have her stuff done. I hate it when that happens.

Cute little Finney. She looks a little apprehensive with that worker helping her. I'll bet she gave her a few dirty looks during the adventure. I hope Sareny and Isaac learned something from it. Hopefully they can go next year, cause it looked really fun. I've never seen an Easter egg hunt in the straw before. Looks kind of fun.

That is hysterical. I'm glad Finley didn't get in trouble, too. Or else you would have missed all that fun!

So---I love The Hunger Games. I already read Catching Fire and can't wait (!!!!) for the next one in August. We need to call each other and discuss these books.

I didn't know the other kids got in trouble and couldn't go. I thought they were in school or something. :( So sad for them.

But Finley is super cute in her pics. I'm glad you guys had fun.
